Description of the Area:
Sharing the gospel in North Korea requires a willingness to die for your faith. The government, controlled by the iron fist of President Kim Jong Il, is intolerant of Christianity and goes to great lengths to suppress and annihilate its followers.
In January 2006, Son Jong Nam was arrested and immediately disappeared in the government's gulag system, presumably executed. What crime did Son commit? After escaping from North Korea, Son decided to return to his home country to preach the gospel to other North Koreans. An active member of the North Korean underground church, Son was considered a threat to the authorities and was given the death sentence.
Description of the Operation:
When Jesus said to his disciples, Go therefore and make disciples of all nations ... (Matthew 28:19), he knew he was not assigning an easy task. However, Son Jong Nam recognized this applied to all Christians, no matter what the consequences. Serving Christ with the same abandon, members of the underground church daily risk their lives to tell other North Koreans about Jesus Christ.
To partner with the North Korean underground church, Bibles Unbound created a new covert operation. Our target is to get New Testaments into North Korea so that individuals can hear Gods word and be changed. Will you answer Christs call and be a part of making new disciples in North Korea?
Due to the lack of religious freedom within North Korea, secrecy is vital, and the names of recipients cannot be released. However, by joining our team, you will receive a final report when the operation is complete. Please think about your part in this mission and continue to pray for the millions of North Koreans who need to know God.
